While 2020 has been a much different year than we expected, there have been silver linings, and we are grateful for the ongoing support we have received from our alumni and their parents, our sponsors, donors, and many friends. For sure, it was disappointing and disheartening to cancel our programs this year, but we have made good use of our time in focusing internally on how best to position the organization going forward, and planning for 2021 and beyond.

Early in the year, we were fortunate in adding two new board members to our US board. And, on a recent Zoom call, we “officially” welcomed Craig Froelich, former CEO of Enviro Systems, and Bill Greenberg, newly promoted CEO of Two Harbors Investment Corp. We are delighted Craig and Bill joined our board and look forward to benefitting from their advice and counsel.

Following up on last year’s success with our Charity Partner team in the 2019 TCS New York City Marathon, this year we had planned to have a larger team supporting Stay-Focused, but, unfortunately, the marathon was canceled. Fortunately, six Stay-Focused alumni who are wheelchair racers came to the rescue and pushed 26.2 miles as members of Team Stay-Focused in the Stay-Focused Alumni Marathon Push 2020. We cheered them on and celebrated their success as they exceeded their team fund-raising goal.

We know uncertainty will still be with us in 2021, especially in the first half of the year, but we are cautiously optimistic we will be able to return to Cayman and run programs. At the same time, we are reviewing alternative strategies that align with our mission in the event we need to pivot and move in a different direction. Whichever strategy we pursue, we are looking forward to our triumphant return in 2021 and keeping you up-to-date on our activities and progress.

All best wishes for safe and enjoyable holidays and a great start to a happy and healthy New Year from all of us at Stay-Focused.
